Volunteering

SJPII Classical Catholic School has a very active and supportive school community.  The School Advisory Committee (SAC), Athletic Department (AD), and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) provide many opportunities for parent/family involvement.
Studies have shown that a strong school community that includes parental involvement is directly related to higher student achievement.
Each family is required to fulfill 12 hours of volunteer service during each school year.

There are many ways to support St. John Paul II Classical Catholic School – one of which is by your time.  We rely on our parents and parishioners for support and assistance throughout the school year.  We invite you to get involved and welcome all levels of participation.

REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERING
-Each volunteer is required by the Archdiocese of Detroit and SJPII Catholic School to attend a Protecting God’s Children Workshop (PGCW) through Virtus.org
-Each volunteer must submit to a Michigan State Police ICHAT electronic background check.
-Each volunteer must sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct.

Volunteers may not work in the school or at school events where children are present until the requirements are fulfilled.

All volunteers are asked to refrain from using cell phones other than an emergency call to the school office when volunteering during school hours (i.e. refrain from talking/texting). It is important to us that your eyes and ears are on the children at all times.
